We’re beginning our Flu immunisations at the surgery on October 3rd 2020 with over 65 year olds only. Please call the reception to book in for this.
This is due to our deliveries of the vaccine not starting until the end of September this year. There are different types of vaccine for different age groups of patients meaning we have to accumulate enough of one type before we can run a clinic.
We have been asked to prioritise over 65 year olds and shielding/vulnerable/at risk patients first. We will then invite the 50-64 year olds group but this may not be until later in the year.
Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
Please bear with us while we do our best to manage the increased demand vs the late deliveries. You will receive an invitation to attend the surgery when we have enough vaccines available.
